We were recently asked by EQ Magazine if we would supply one of our products to be included in an independent “Tried and Tested” bedding feature they were running.
They requested Bed-Down Lavender Shavings and we were really pleased to find that they were awarded 9/10 – the highest mark given for any of the brands tried. Heres what Abbie and her horse Fab had to say about Bed-Down Lavender Shavings:
Comments: “I was intrigued by these shavings as the lavender smell enveloped the entire yard when i first put the bed down. I was also pleasantly surprised by how litle dust came off them. They were easy to muck out with minimal waste and very absorbant. I used them with my rubber mats and they gave me a very deep, springy bed. I didn’t top up at all in the first week, simply because there were no apparent wet patches.”
Absorbancy: “Possibly the most absorbent shavings I’ve ever used.”
Economy: The Lavender Shavings are a bit more expensive than regular shavings so I may mix a couple of bales with regular shavings to make the bed smell nice. I did notice that Fab was lying down more than usual on these shavings compared to others I have used – whether this was because they masked the urine smell completely, I don’t know!
Rot Down: There was hardly any waste going onto the muck heap so the manure was rotting down pretty quickly.
