Alongside this, our biomass boilers provide an efficient and environmentally responsible way of producing heat, using organic fuel rather than fossil fuels.
Packaging is another area where we are focused on making meaningful improvements. We carefully select materials that balance durability with environmental responsibility, ensuring that all packaging used across our range of horse and animal bedding is fully recyclable. We also incorporate recycled content into our plastics, reducing the demand for new raw materials and helping to limit unnecessary waste.
Minimising waste and making the most of available resources is central to our manufacturing process. Dust which is extracted during production of our horse and animal bedding is not discarded; instead, it is reused to create pellets and sawdust that are supplied to the poultry sector, turning what could have been waste into a valuable by-product. Our straw is sourced as locally as possible, supporting nearby farmers and keeping transport distances – and associated emissions – to a minimum.
We continue to invest in efficient machinery and modern technology, too, allowing us to maximise output while using energy more intelligently. This ongoing focus on innovation helps ensure our processes remain both effective and responsible. And of course we value the natural environment around us. By maintaining wild areas on our site, we actively encourage wildlife and insects, supporting biodiversity and contributing to a healthier local ecosystem.
