The Shire Horse Society’s National Shire Horse Show takes place in March each year, and is the event at which the best of Shires are shown. Shire horse breeders from far and wide meet, along with the general public, to celebrate this wonderful breed.
Bed-Down Horse Bedding are excited to be sponsoring and attending the 2024 National Shire Horse Show, which will be taking place at the Staffordshire Country Ground between 8th-10th March. We’re really looking forward to this event, which promises to be a weekend of fun for all the family. Visitors are expected to come from all corners of the world.
The National Shire Horse Show is your chance to support the excellent and important work of the Shire Horse Society and learn all about Shire horses, as well as see them close-up, in all their glory. Shire owners will be showing off their horses and, on Saturday, the coveted King George V cup will be awarded to the champion stallion. Lots of other trophies will be handed out too, throughout what promises to be a memorable weekend.
Pedigree Shires will be put through their paces in their in-hand, turnout and ridden classes during a packed three-day programme. This is where horse enthusiasts get the opportunity to gain an insight into the world of Shire horses, the elegant giants of the equine world. For all things Shire horse, the National Shire Horse Show is truly where it’s at!
