Camp was held at Easton Park Arabian Stud, the trainers were Tammy Ruffles and Ruth Hurst. 3 Days of fun and learning was had by all. On Friday the campers arrived to find stables and fill with Excel which was kindly supplied by Bed-Down.
Once horses were settled the campers met in the indoor school for supper and a talk from Helen Whitbread from Deben Valley Vets about boots/ bandages – no boots/bandages. They also had a talk from farrier Rob from Easton Forge on awareness of foot balance.
An early start Saturday for training. Throughout the day Claire Cole was assessing each horse and encouraging owners with massage and exercises. The afternoon was test riding with Ruth judging and giving advice for the competition the next day.
Jo Spear was also running an equine pilates clinic to give the campers advice about awareness of their body whilst riding.
In the evening a demonstration from Liz Leggett-Mills Saddlery on the balance of the saddle. And Lizzie Drury from Saracens about diet and feed.
Sunday was competition day and all the riders did fantastically after the training the day before, Ruth was judging and Liz Fosdyke writing and Susan Beddows coring.
Next was lunch and presentation of rosettes kindly sponsored by Sandale Training and livery yard, and not forgetting birthday wishes to Tracey.
